Commands and Symbology

InRoads Named Symbologies

InRoads Named Symbologies are stored definitions of the attributes of graphic elements.  They are often associated with the engineering objects that show up on plansheets (ETW, e.g.) but should also be used for any symbology that may be repeated in InRoads (example: Profile Title).

Use Named Symbology Everywhere Possible in InRoads

Translate the Client's Object Symbology Standards to Named Symbology

Have a Named Symbology for EVERY graphic that InRoads places

Does not need to be 1:1; user discretion: multiple diverse objects can share a general Symbology

Never specify individual symbology settings in an InRoads command, refer to a Named Symbology instead.

Take advantage of Global Scale factors
